Games for 6mths - 1yr Make a Crawling Tunnel
This is another game for when your baby is crawling well. If you have an older child they can help with this so it is fun for all the family!
You will need some cardboard boxes - 3 or 4 depending on how adventurous your baby is! Some thick tape - the sort you use to secure boxes when moving house, some brightly colored paints, glitter, star shapes - anything you can think of to decorate the tunnel.
First you have to open up the cardboard boxes, you may need to cut some flaps off and then tape them together so you have a tunnel. If you are helping another child make this you need to supervise the cutting. It is important to make sure that you can see all the way through the tunnel so it is not dark, and your baby can crawl through it with out being restricted by space or because they are scared.
Then get your child to decorate the tunnel - you can do this with potato prints, cutting out shapes out of magazines / wrapping paper / coloured card and sticking them on or painting large block colours on the outside.
Once it is all dry, pop the tunnel on the floor, and encourage your baby to crawl through - you can play "peek-a-boo" from the other end of the tunnel. Your baby might enjoy you placing a couple of toys in the tunnel for him / her, or if you have an older child that is not too much bigger get your older child to crawl through the tunel and play "peek-a-boo".
