Games for 1 - 2yrs Finger Puppets
Babies and toddlers love playing with you ad having your undivided attention!
You can make simple finger puppets as follows:
Get a rectangle of plain paper. Roll it into a cylinder so it fits over your finger. Staple one end together (careful not to staple your finger!) and you can cut some length of bright colored wool an inch or so long and staple them on to the closed end.
Get a felt tip pen and draw a smiley face. Cut the open end of the cylinder to the length of your finger so you can slip it on and you have a fantastic finger puppet!
You can make a smaller one for your toddler and play finger puppets! Get your toddler to practice “bowing” his/her puppet, you can also get them to dance and talk.
This all helps develop conversation skills and manipulative skills for your toddler.
This is also an opportunity for an older sibling to help make the puppets and join in the game so they feel involved with entertaining their younger sibling!
